A central part of our mission at IDA Ontario is to provide information and support to teachers. We endorse the use of evidence-based structured literacy instruction for all students in the general classroom, as well as the provision of intense structured literacy intervention for students at risk for dyslexia.
To learn more about structured literacy, please visit our main website: www.idaontario.com. For updates on workshops and training opportunities and access to additional resources, we recommend that you join IDA; membership is now free for classroom teachers.
For a quick overview of what dyslexia is and how it affects students, watch the recording of our recent webinar with leading Canadian learning disabilities researcher Dr. Jamie Metsala and developmental pediatrician Dr. Nicky Jones-Stokreef.
